Fundación Terra supports students in becoming entrepreneurs

Fundación Terra's School Enterprise Program promotes the talent and creativity of fourth- through ninth-grade students from 20 schools in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula through their participation in the Entrepreneurship Fair, where they present products and services developed from their own business ideas.

Implemented by Fundación Terra since 2017 in partnership with Teach A Man To Fish, the program gives children and young people tools to turn their ideas into productive initiatives. It currently includes 300 students and 20 school businesses in Honduras. Regionally, it reaches 85 school enterprises and 7,950 students.

The Entrepreneurship Fair marks the completion of a training process in which students learn to create, plan, manage, and market their own ventures while strengthening skills in financial education, leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Participating projects cover different sectors, including food, handmade products, jewelry, school supplies, gardening, and decoration, demonstrating students' creativity in identifying opportunities and turning ideas into business proposals.

Revenue from the sale of products and services is used to address needs in the students' own schools, allowing them to develop entrepreneurial skills while helping strengthen the spaces where they learn.

Through the School Enterprise Program, Fundación Terra reaffirms its commitment to an education that strengthens the capacities of new generations and empowers them to become leaders of their own development.
