Fundación Terra, in partnership with the Ministry of Education (SEDUC) and with support from UNESCO, is launching the Green and Safe Schools program, an initiative designed to transform schools into environmentally responsible and safe spaces that are prepared to face the challenges of climate change.

Over four months, 100 teachers and other key stakeholders will participate in training on environmental education and risk management, gaining tools to implement the program and work toward Green and Safe School certification.

Schools will receive educational materials, technical assistance, and environmental kits with supplies for school gardens, composting systems, rainwater harvesting, and proper solid-waste management.

In its first stage, Green and Safe Schools will directly benefit 10,487 students in 30 schools in the Central District. Teachers will act as knowledge multipliers through practical classroom activities.

Fundación Terra will deliver the educational materials to the Ministry of Education for inclusion on the IBERTEL virtual platform, expanding access to these resources and supporting the program's continuity and nationwide growth.

Through Green and Safe Schools, Fundación Terra continues to promote partnerships that integrate education and sustainability.
