Fundación Terra empowers 55 Central American youth through the “Young Leaders in Service” program

In its commitment to strengthening leadership skills among Central American youth, Fundación Terra celebrates the successful completion of the “Young Leaders in Service” program, designed to train young people from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, promoting their active and transformative participation in society.

The program, which took place from March 2 to June 29, provided comprehensive training over four months, divided into four thematic modules. These modules were led by 15 international experts through 16 consecutive Saturday sessions, utilizing both in-person and virtual formats to ensure the inclusion of youth from across the region.

Key topics covered included: creating impact and vision, government systems, key actors in public policy development, and the use of information and data for decision-making. With the support of eight national facilitators, provided through a strategic partnership with UNITEC, participants not only gained specialized knowledge but also developed ten innovative project proposals in areas such as community development, social entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and education.

Out of more than 400 youth who initially applied, 65 were selected, and 55 successfully completed the program, receiving a certificate endorsed by UNITEC for 48 hours of specialized training, as well as the book Ego is the Enemy, reminding them that "without others, it is impossible," highlighting the values of collaboration and teamwork promoted by Fundación Terra.

During the closing ceremony, the young leaders participated in activities reflecting Fundación Terra’s five core values: trust, respect, passion, creativity, and results-oriented focus.

Through this program, Fundación Terra strengthens its commitment to the Partnership for Central America, specifically the Central American Service Corps (CASC), equipping youth with the tools and knowledge to improve their employment opportunities.

Architect Fredy Nasser, Executive President of Fundación Terra, stated: "We are proud to contribute to strengthening youth leadership in the region. We trust that the knowledge and experiences gained by the participants of 'Young Leaders in Service' will have a positive and lasting impact on the development of their countries and communities."
