Fundación Terra, promoting education and values in the region, inaugurates the 2024 Becas Tutoría's Program.

Fundación Terra is proud to announce the inauguration of the 2024 Becas Tutoría's Program in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. With over 25 years of implementation, this flagship education program has been a beacon of hope and change in the region's education, promoting values such as solidarity and commitment in the educational field.

The Becas Tutoría's Program is a methodology validated by the Ministries of Education in the countries where it is implemented, endorsed by educational authorities' coordination, and authorized for implementation in educational centers. This methodology focuses on supporting children and youth in improving their academic performance, especially in critical areas such as Mathematics and Spanish, through reinforcement sessions conducted by dedicated tutors.

In addition to imparting knowledge and values, the Becas Tutoría's Program also focuses on sharing study habits with the students, from time management to the care of necessary school materials for learning, highlighting the relationship of camaraderie, respect, and admiration established between the tutor and the student, which promotes personal growth and self-esteem, contributing to a healthy coexistence in the educational center.

Fredy Nasser, Executive President of Fundación Terra, expressed, "Becas Tutoría not only open growth opportunities for teachers, students, and parents but are also conducive to implementing complementary actions in entrepreneurship, socio-emotional education, and environmental care, thus expanding the horizon of opportunities for social welfare."

The positive impacts of the program in the region have facilitated the creation of strategic alliances with national and cooperating partners interested in improving the retention, approval, and promotion of the student population in centers with educational, economic, and social vulnerability. In 2023, the following regional achievements were highlighted:

  • Reinforcement hours: 590,000
  • Educational Centers: 600, of which 72% are in Honduras
  • Tutors: 5,650, of which 7% are in Secondary Education
  • Students tutored: 28,200
  • Teachers: 1,750

At Fundación Terra, close collaboration is fostered to generate creative solutions with all those involved in its educational chain: teachers, student tutors, and parents, so that their actions are aligned with the program's values, such as responsibility, punctuality, solidarity, creativity, and honesty, values that are fundamental for the comprehensive education of students.
