Fundación Terra recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit of Honduras by awarding Seed Capital to 15 entrepreneurs

In a joint effort between the "Start and Improve Your Business" (SIYB) program of the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Tegucigalpa (CCIT), and Fundación Terra, the Award Terra te Impulsa was presented to Honduran entrepreneurs. This business management training program aims to strengthen and support the entrepreneurial spirit in Honduras by providing tools and resources necessary for the success of local businesses.

Fifteen Honduran entrepreneurs were selected as recipients of this seed capital, totaling L 255,000 distributed among the winning entrepreneurs from various sectors such as food, music, coffee, crafts, health, marketing services, among others. They participated in a two-month training process, receiving education in various stages of formation: Generate Your Business Idea (GYBI), Start Your Business (SYB), Improve Your Business (IYB), and Expand Your Business (EYB). In each stage, entrepreneurs acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to develop and sustainably grow their businesses.

Upon successfully completing the training phase and after a selection process, 53 entrepreneurs submitted their business plans, which were evaluated by a panel of experts considering criteria such as innovation and creativity in processes and products, the integration of digital marketing knowledge into the business, effective use of the Terra Boosts You platform, business viability, market opportunities, business model, and growth potential, among others.

In addition to the seed capital, a digital access component was added to the award, providing laptops to five selected entrepreneurs, bringing the total number of awards to 20. These devices will be used by entrepreneurs to enhance and improve their business operations, providing them with technological tools to expand their businesses more efficiently.

The Terra te Impulsa Seed Capital Award represents an opportunity for Honduran entrepreneurs, providing them with the financial boost needed to launch their projects and turn their business dreams into reality. Additionally, selected entrepreneurs will receive guidance and follow-up from business experts who will guide them in the process of growth and development of their companies.

During the event, Mariel Rivera, Executive Director of Fundación Terra, expressed: "The delivery of the Terra te Impulsa Seed Capital Award is the result of a strategic alliance that seeks to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen business capacity in Honduras. Fundación Terra is proud to contribute to the economic and social development of the country, creating opportunities and promoting innovation in productive sectors."
