Fundación Terra and Samsung launch the second edition of the Samsung Innovation Campus program with 96 new young participants.

Fundación Terra and Samsung are inaugurating, for the second consecutive year, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program, which empowers the next generations to thrive in a technology-driven future.

The Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) offers a curriculum covering practical skills required in emerging technology-related professions. Since 2020, it has been implemented in various countries worldwide, benefiting 35,802 students.

Through this second edition of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), 66 young participants from Fundación Terra programs and 30 from Fundaesteam in Honduras will have the opportunity to access specialized hybrid training of over 90 hours in programming and coding. They will learn various technologies such as Scratch, Rur-Ple (Python), and the use of algorithms for problem-solving, working on real cases and complications where they will propose innovative solutions.

The program is aimed at young people aged 15 to 25 residing in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. Upon completion of the innovation camp, they will receive certification endorsed by Samsung and Stratego, provided by Fundesteam. This certification will enhance their employment opportunities and make them more competitive professionally.

During the event, Fredy Nasser, Executive President of Fundación Terra, stated, "Now more than ever, it is essential that our future generations have technological knowledge, enabling them to access better job opportunities and thus have a prosperous future." He added, "Access to innovation-based education is the most powerful tool for the economic development of any country and, therefore, for the creation of decent and well-paid jobs."

"This program aims primarily to promote the employability of young people. In this first phase, an introductory course in Coding and Programming will be offered. The good news is that there is a robust portfolio of content in Big Data, Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence," said María Fernanda Hernández, Corporate Citizenship Manager for Samsung Electronics.

Since its launch in 2022, Fundación Terra and Samsung Innovation Campus have certified 64 young people in digital skills in the Central American region. In this second generation, there are 70 enrolled participants in the program, with access to computational laboratories provided by Fundación Terra for on-site activities at the Samsung Innovation Campus.
