25 entrepreneurs receive seed capital through the Fundación Terra's program Terra Te Impulsa program
Through its Terra Te Impulsa program, Fundación Terra, in collaboration with the Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Tegucigalpa and its Start and Improve Your Business (IMESUN) program, continues to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the country with the aim of generating growth, business opportunities, and expanding the market for small business owners in Honduras.
The Start and Improve Your Business (IMESUN) program is a business management training program developed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) with a focus on starting and improving small businesses as a strategy for creating more and better jobs for women and men, especially in emerging economies.
The 25 winning entrepreneurs were selected from among 75 participants who started the training program, and as part of the process, they presented their business and financial plans to a judging panel. The panel based its decision on criteria such as business potential, sustainability over time, investment strategy, and inspiring entrepreneurial track record, among others.
As an active participant in the IMESUM program, the entrepreneurs attended technical and practical workshops to strengthen areas such as business planning, marketing plans for their products or services, business organization and management, and business planning, among others.
Through the Terra te Impulsa Award, Fundación Terra provides L 25,000 in seed capital to each of the 25 winning ventures, investing a total of L 625,000 in the growth and development of these companies that are part of the Terra Te Impulsa program.
Mariel Rivera, Executive Director of Fundación Terra, commented: "This contribution of seed capital reaffirms our commitment to the socio-economic well-being of the country. It is an opportunity to reward 25 entrepreneurs from Terra Te Impulsa, reflecting the execution of agreements established with the Partnership for Central America to strengthen and promote entrepreneurship in the country. We intend to continue benefiting many more ventures as they are the engine of Honduras' economy."
Fundación Terra, along with its strategic partner CCIT, invests in Honduran entrepreneurs, providing them not only with the resources to grow but also the connections and opportunities for business expansion.
