Fundación Terra celebrates its 24th anniversary with the Forum 'The Role of the Private Sector in Education.

In the context of its 24 years,  Fundación Terra developed the forum "The Role of the Private Sector in Education," through which programs, experiences, and local and international initiatives from the private sector impacting education globally were presented.

The forum took place in two segments. The first focused on "Global Experiences of Private Impact in Education," featuring speakers such as Laura Calventi, Portfolio Director at INICIA Educación; Alejandra Soleno, Regional Manager for Central America at Teach a Man to Fish; Fernando Revilla, General Director Mexico at Grupo SM; and Jorge García, CEO and Founder of KUEPA.

The second forum, titled "The Role of the Private Sector and Its Impact on Education in Honduras," included participants such as Edith Figueroa, Vice Minister of Pedagogical Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Education in Honduras; Francisco Anello, Global Senior Vice President of Education at Aleph Holding; Xavier Rubio, Founder and CEO of PIXDEA; and David Medina, Deputy Project Director of Creando Mi Futuro Aquí.

During the forum's thematic discussions, topics like "Educating Youth for Work and Entrepreneurship" and "Technology in the Service of Educational Improvement" were addressed. The analysis emphasized the value of collaboration between the business sector and the government, highlighting its significance in meeting the country's economic needs and labor demands.

Fredy Nasser, President of Fundación Terra, stated, "This meeting arises because we firmly believe that strengthening educational quality in the region is a task for all sectors. The role of the state as the guarantor of education, in alignment with the private sector that develops and drives innovation in various fields, represents a great combination for the development and transformation of society."

One of the key conclusions highlighted the significant role the private sector can play in collaborative actions, such as generating content and methodologies that facilitate young people's transition to real job opportunities. Providing them with knowledge and experiences related to computer science, programming, and other digital realms, as demonstrated by our presenters, opens up a universe of options—languages, sciences, and mathematics—inspiring effort to continue learning, working, undertaking, creating, and, of course, becoming better citizens.
